I am NOT Funny

I haven’t really done anything fun in this blog for quite some time. It has mostly been focused on our anniversary and me very seriously expressing my undying love for you. I could do that again this time, but I figured it is getting boring hearing me tell you that all the time. It is time we got back to the core of our marriage - making each other laugh.

So I figured this type of entry puts a ton of pressure on me. I know I think I am funny, but I am not so sure you think so as well. In fact you likely don’t find me funny at all. I may make you smile or chuckle form time to time, but in general in your eyes I am not so funny. Am I correct in assuming that?

So lets see what can I do that is funny…..

How about a good old top 10 List? Something memorable like the “Top 10 Embarrassing Husband Moments of the Past 20+ Years”. I am pretty sure you laughed when they happened, why wouldn’t you laugh at them now right? Ok here goes…

10 - The incident in Texas following the trip to Cabo Grande. I’ll never go behind a convenience store again.

9 - Trying to kill a spider as I got dressed for work. Our nephew may never recover...

8 - Countless times I have put shirts on backwards, inside out or just flat out wrong.

7 - Any time I attempt to do my Eddie Vedder

6 - …….

You know that list is more humiliating than it is funny. Plus if someone actually saw that I would have to move to an island somewhere far far away. Maybe I should try another approach.

I could quote lots of funny movie stuff. My “Will Ferrell” arsenal of movie quotes. No that isn’t ME being funny that is someone else being funny. Wow this is harder than I thought.

Lets see. I can’t tell jokes. I can’t really remember funny things I have done. Most of my humor is movie quotes from someone else. Pathetic isn’t it? You know what I just figured out? It is you that is the funny one in the marriage. You who makes us smile all the time. You who cracks us up all the time. I am just along for the ride. It is a fun ride, but you are definitely driving.

So I guess I’ll just face facts. I am not that funny. No matter how hard I try only I think I am funny. Every once in a while I get lucky. One time I got really lucky - I found a funny wife. I’ll just ride your coat-tails from here on in.

I’ll stick to what I am best at doing. Loving you. More sappy blog entries to come.

You’re the world to me. I love you more than anything in the world.
