Her Eyes

This is kind of weird since you are sitting right next to me, but I am so glad you are there right now. I don't like the "being alone" part of the travelling. It has been 3 years since this started and there are so many times when I question if it is really the right thing to do. You sitting right next to me is EXACTLY how life is supposed to work.

This post actually should have gone with the poem. However, I had never heard the song when I was creating the poem. I do find it cool that I am still able to find a song that makes me so connect to you. This one has so many lines in it that remind me of you and "fit" you.

The song is called "Her Eyes" by Pat Monahan. He used to sing for Train (may still sing for Train who knows these days). So in addition to being a cool set of lyrics he has a really cool voice. Please watch this one and listen for me (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dpT8-J3xGMc) - it would mean a lot to me. Here are the lyrics (do note I changed one of them just for you - you will find it):

"She’s not afraid; she just likes to use her night light
When she gets paid, true religion gets it all
If they fit right.

She’s a little bit manic, completely organic
Doesn’t panic for the most part.

She’s old enough to know, and young enough not to say no
To any chance that she gets for home plate tickets to see the White Sox.
Like everybody, she’s in over her head,
Dreads Feds, Grateful Dead, and doesn’t take meds.

She’s a Gemini Capricorn
Thinks all men are addicted to porn.
I don’t agree with her half the time,
But, damn I’m glad she’s mine.

Her eyes, that’s where hope lies.
That’s where blue skies
Meet the sunrise.
Her eyes, that’s where I go,
When I go home.

She got the kinda strength that every man wishes he had.
She loved Michael Jackson up until he made Bad.

Tells me that she lives about a hundred lives,
Scares me to death when she thinks and drives,
Says cowboy hats make her look fat,
and I’m so glad she’s mine.

Her eyes, that’s where hope lies.
That’s where blue skies
Meet the sunrise.
Her eyes, that’s where I go
When I go home.

She doesn’t know the word ‘impossible’
Don’t care where I’ve been and doesn’t care where we’re goin’ to.
She takes me as I am, and that ain’t easy.
She’s beautiful. So beautiful.

And sometimes I think she’s truly crazy.
And I love it.

Her eyes, that’s where hope lies.
That’s where blue skies
Always meet the sunrise.
Her eyes, that’s where I go
When I go home.

Her eyes, that’s where hope lies.
That’s where blue skies
Always meet the sunrise.
Her eyes, that’s where I go
When I go home.

She’s not afraid; she just likes to use her night light."

There are lots of lyrics that fit you. The Michael Jackson thing. The thinks all men part. Lots of it fits.

The chorus is so incredible. "Her eyes, that's where the hope lies....that's where the blue skies...always meet the sunrise" how truly romantic. But the next part is the part that gets me, the part that both times I heard the song and you where in the car with me, I probably could have wrecked the car because I had to look at your eyes. "Her eyes, that's where I go - When I go home". Sniff Sniff. It is worthy of a tear. It is the single most perfect lyric I have ever heard.

So you need to know forever. Your eyes are where I go when I go home. I love those eyes. Everything tiny little thing about them. They speak to me. They tell me things I know you would never say out loud. They smile at me. They frown at me. They show me love. Now I have a song all about them. A perfect song with a perfect lyric.

You're the world to me. I love you more than anything in the world.
