We need to sing

Our concert playlist is playing right now. Its an amazing collection of music essentially designed for the two of us. Just think if we could gather ALL of the artists who sing the songs in one place. What a show. What a day (it would take a day for them all to play).

Daily Phone Calls

I just answered the phone when you called.

You started out with that familiar "Hey". It sounds like heaven. Its followed by some happy thought or cool thing you need to tell me. It makes em smile and warms my heart.

So many tiny little simple things we do to/for each other that make us smile.

So I though to myself, maybe it is the insignificant things that you notice that are the really romantic parts of being in love.

Who knows, but you voice made my afternoon.

Decorations outside tonight. Spiked Cider! I can't wait.

You're the world to me. I love you more than anything in the world.

A Gift For You My Love

My wife and I have been together for nearly 20 glorious years. Its funny the things you learn about your spouse over time. I have had a few shockers. Like the time I found out that my wife had a real desire to retire to an RV (a very large RV as in recreational vehicle) and parade about the country in our old age. Not really her personality. This one still baffles me.

The other shocker was on January 25, 1997. We attended a Counting Crows concert in Dallas and Adam Duritz told the infamous story of how he had written "Good Night Elizabeth" for a girl he loved. He left town and when he came back she was gone. At that moment I found out that my wife was touched by people who could write songs. It was a watershed moment for me.

Well my love - I cannot write songs. I can barely remember the words of songs written by others. But I can give you this blog.

It is intended to be a non-stop pouring of my heart. A gift for your 38th birthday. A gift I plan on giving you for years to come.

The Anniversary Poem
